Order
This is the order and quote-request form, built on Tally so files can be uploaded without a server of our own.
The form asks for the four answers a quote is built from — page size, binding, colour and quantity — and for the files themselves. It takes a few minutes if the manuscript is ready.
Before you start
- The manuscript in whatever form it already exists — Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign or PDF — with the text final.
- Cover art, if you have it, at 300 dpi or better. If you do not, tick the cover-design box and we design one.
- The page size, binding, colour and quantity you are considering — a guess is enough to quote from.
- The date the finished books are needed.
What the form asks for
- Service — design only, print only, cover only, or a combination.
- Book — title, author, language, genre and page count.
- Page size — A4, A5, 6 × 9 in, or 8.5 × 11 in.
- Binding — perfect, hardcover, or spiral.
- Interior — black and white, or full colour.
- Copies — the quantity you need.
- Cover — should we design it, or do you have artwork?
- Files — manuscript, cover art and any references.
- Deadline — the date the books are needed.
- Address — where the books are delivered.
- Contact — your name, phone number and email.
- Notes — anything the quote should take into account.
- Consent — that the content is yours to print, and that you accept the terms.
After you send it
We check that the files open and that the page count matches what the form says, then reply with a quote. The quote is fixed for thirty days. Paying the 50% advance confirms the order and puts the book in the design queue; the balance is due before delivery.
If something in the form is wrong — a page count, a binding choice — say so when you send it. It is easier to correct before the quote than after.
Large files
If a file is bigger than the form accepts, paste a Google Drive or WeTransfer link into the file field. We download from the link and delete it, along with the working copy, when the job is done.
What happens to your files
Manuscripts and artwork are used to produce your book and are not shown to anyone else. The working copy is deleted when the job is done: we do not keep an archive of manuscripts, so a reprint later means sending the file again. Privacy sets out exactly what is kept — the order and the invoice — and for how long.
