Quotes and orders

• A quote is fixed for thirty days from the date it is sent.
• An order is confirmed when the 50% advance is paid; work starts from that point.
• The balance is due before delivery.
• Invoices are sent by email and list what the price covers.

Your content

You keep the copyright in the manuscript and artwork you send. You confirm that you own the rights to them, or that you are authorised to print them, and that printing them does not infringe anyone else's rights. Taleem does not reprint, resell or reuse the content.

Confidentiality of your manuscript

This is the clause the rest of the relationship rests on.

• Your manuscript is unpublished work and is treated as confidential.
• Only the people working on the book see it: the people who set it, and the printer that produces it. Nobody else inside the studio reads it in passing.
• It is not published, not shown to other customers, and not used in our portfolio or on this website without your written permission.
• We do not keep it. The working copy is deleted when the job is complete and the books have been delivered. What remains is the order record and the invoice, which contain no part of the manuscript. A reprint later means sending the file again.
• If a copy of your manuscript is disclosed to someone else through a mistake of ours, we are liable to compensate you for the loss that causes. The limit of liability below does not apply to that.

Proofs

• You approve a proof before printing.
• Corrections requested after approval, and reprints caused by errors in an approved proof, are charged at cost.
• The proof is the reference for what the finished book should look like.

Printing variation

Printing is a physical process. Small variation in colour between the screen, the proof and the printed sheet, and small variation in trimming, are normal and are not treated as faults. Where colour matters, a printed proof is the reference.

Faults and reprints

If the finished books differ from the approved proof because of an error on our side, we reprint the affected copies at our cost. Tell us as soon as possible after delivery and before the books are distributed, and keep the faulty copies for inspection. Because we keep no manuscript, a reprint needs the file sent again.

Cancellation and refunds

• Before work starts: the advance is refunded in full.
• During design: the advance is refunded less the design work completed.
• After printing: an order cannot be cancelled, because the copies exist. A reprint or a refund applies only where the fault is ours.

Delivery

Books are packed and couriered to the address on the order. Delivery charges outside the quoted destination are quoted before dispatch. Risk passes to you when the books are delivered to that address.

Liability

Our liability for an order is limited to the price of that order, except for a disclosure of your manuscript through our fault, where that limit does not apply. We are not liable for lost sales, lost income or other consequences of a delayed or faulty print run.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh.
