FAQ
These are the questions that come up before an order is placed, answered as plainly as the current policy allows.
If a question here is answered with “it depends”, the quote is where it stops depending: it names the figures for your book.
What should I send to start?
The manuscript in whatever form you already have it, any cover art, and the four details a quote is built from: page size, binding, colour and quantity. The order form asks for all of it in one go.
What format should the manuscript be in?
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign or PDF — any of them. Word and Publisher are the easiest to set; a PDF works if it holds the final text and is not a scan of printed pages, because a scan has to be retyped. Cover art should be at least 300 dpi at the size it will print.
Can I print without design?
Yes. If you already have a print-ready PDF, choose print only on the form. We check that the pages are the right size, that fonts are embedded and that images are at press resolution before quoting.
How long does a book take, and what is the smallest run?
The quote states the dates for the draft, the proof and delivery; page count, binding and the queue at the press move them. There is no single minimum quantity — short runs cost more per copy because the set-up is the same either way — and the quote shows the figure for the quantity you ask for.
Will I see a proof before printing?
Yes. The proof is part of the process, not an extra: you approve it before the press runs. Corrections after approval are charged separately, which is why the proof stage is worth taking slowly.
How do I pay?
A 50% advance confirms the order and starts the work. The balance is due before delivery. Invoices are sent by email with the payment instructions.
Do you deliver outside Dhaka?
Books are delivered by courier, and the charge depends on the destination — it is listed on the quote rather than added afterwards. Books leave once the balance is settled.
Who owns the copyright, and do you keep my manuscript?
You own the copyright. We print what you send, do not reprint or resell it, and do not keep the manuscript: the working copy is deleted when the job is done, so there is no archive to leak from. If a copy were ever disclosed through a mistake of ours, we are liable to compensate you — that clause is in the terms, and privacy lists what is kept instead.
Can you design just the cover?
Yes. If the manuscript has no cover, we design front, back and spine at the spine width your page count produces. It is the cheapest part of the job and can be ordered on its own, with no typesetting and no printing attached.
What if the finished books are faulty?
If the printed books differ from the proof you approved because of a mistake on our side, we reprint at our cost. What counts as a fault, and what is normal variation in printing, is set out in the terms.
